Search is what screenshots usually miss
A normal screenshot preserves what you saw, but it behaves like a flat image. That is fine for a quick share, but painful when the image contains a long receipt, article, chat, code review, or documentation page. You know the information is inside the capture, but you cannot search it.
Everscroll closes that gap for Mac users. It can capture the long page first, run on-device text recognition, and export a searchable PDF. The result is still a visual record of the page, but the words become useful. You can search for a name, invoice line, error message, product code, or paragraph without manually reading the whole image again.
How the workflow works
- Capture the full page or long region with Everscroll.
- Review the screenshot and crop or redact anything private if needed.
- Use the searchable PDF export when you want an archive instead of a plain image.
- Open the PDF later and use Command-F to find recognized text.
OCR quality depends on the source image. Crisp text, good contrast, and a stable capture area produce better searchable PDFs.

Privacy by default
Everscroll's text recognition runs with Apple's on-device Vision framework. The app does not upload screenshots, OCR content, or PDFs to its own servers. If a capture contains private information, you can redact likely emails, phone numbers, or card numbers before exporting. See the Privacy Policy for details.
